I hope that you will find this parish to be a welcoming and open place to discover who God has created you to be. Saint Thomas Aquinas tells us that the final purpose of all people is to flourish and that the way we come to this flourishing is through the grace of God in Jesus Christ our Lord. This vision of human flourishing is not about attaining material wealth but striving for the immaterial love that leads to the transformation of every part of our lives. Whom we love will determine who we are. And who we are at Holy Cross is a people who love God and love our neighbor. This parish prides itself as a haven for the downtown neighborhood as we welcome the stranger, the homeless, the sick, the needy and all others who might find themselves in our area.
If you've been searching for an inclusive church environment, you've come to the right place. Holy Cross Episcopal Church is a welcoming and affirming local Episcopal church in Shreveport, LA. We value the sacramental inclusion of all people, especially our LGBTQ+ siblings, the homeless and anyone in need. We're also active in ministries of social justice.
At our parish, we strive to be the presence of Jesus Christ in the community and beyond, through worship of God, open inquiry, sharing fellowship, valued diversity, genuine inclusiveness and servant leadership - encouraging all to exercise God's gifts and calling as we share the Gospel in ministry, to serve without regard for religious affiliation, race or economic status.

While Holy Cross Child Placement is a separate legal entity from our church, we work together to help provide families with the opportunity to adopt children from the local area. Our local adoption agency offers adoption support programs for mothers who opt to have their child adopted and for new parents seeking adoption.
Holy Cross Hope House is the primary outreach ministry of our local Episcopal church. We started in 2004 and initially provided our friends and neighbors with a place to enjoy coffee or access telephone service. We now have numerous programs to help benefit the people of our community. We are responsible for the majority of the budget, but we also receive and welcome local charity and donations.
Reach out to us for more information about our local adoption agency or our outreach programs.
